square deal pincusion

If you sew, you have to have cute sewing paraphernalia. It's the law. This is a pincushion made from Heather Bailey's pattern that she recently updated and added to her blog. Her version is much more fabulous. Have you seen this woman's stuff? I think Heather is one of the most talented designers we've seen since Amy Butler. She designs quilting fabric, patterns, scrapbook papers and page elements, even hair accessories! Her blog is adorable, and she seems to use creativity in every area of her life. I love this quote from her blog:

"I love to create. Need to create. And I'm spreading the word on how fulfilling and necessary creativity is to the human soul. Love & nurture your family, be true & honest with your friends and make good stuff -- three necessary ingredients for a happy & beautiful life."

If you live in the Mesa, AZ area, you are one lucky duck, because she often teaches classes in an adorable shop called Blissful Living Studio. Check out the cute strawberry pincushions they made last month with Heather. So sweet! It looks like Heather will soon be releasing some pincushion kits that you can purchase if you like to leave the fabric choices to the professionals. But this pattern really is a quick and easy project. Make one tonight. Your pins will thank you.

Isn't it a cute pincushion. My friend made them for Mother's Day gifts.
