When I was working at Lasting Memories, I had a major wish-list item. I'll give you a hint. It cuts paper, vinyl, and heat transfer material, and you don't have to buy expensive design cartridges. If you guessed the Silhouette digital cutting machine, then you must have it on your wish list, too! If you have no idea what I'm taking about, prepare to be amazed. And to want one.
A few weeks ago, Silhouette sent me a free machine to try and review (I know--I've been dancing a little jig ever since!). I came home from Utah to this:
(Jiggety-jig!)
I spent the last year singing it's praises to customers in the scrapbook store, but now that I've had a chance to use the Silhouette myself, all I can say is that it really is AMAZING. I am full-fledged IN LOVE with this machine. Let me tell you why. No, let me show you why. Here is a sampling of some of the projects I've done since I received my machine (yes, I've been busy!):
I have so many great project ideas in my head for this tool, and I haven't even tried the glass etching cream, rhinestone templates, sketching pencils, or printable heat transfer material yet! Check out some more ideas here and on the Silhouette blog (which is incredible, by the way). There are tons of tutorials, FAQs, and great ideas on both sites. Here are a few things inspiring me:
The Giveaway
Okay, enough of my blabbering, here's the big news. Silhouette is letting us give away a FREE Silhouette SD cutting tool and a bunch of free accessories to one of our readers! (You should be doing a little jig about now, too!) Here's what our lucky winner will receive:
*Silhouette SD Digital Cutting Tool (retail price $299)
*Two rolls of vinyl
*One roll of transfer tape (for applying the vinyl images)
*A scraper tool (for applying vinyl)
*A CD of home décor images to cut
*$10 download card to buy new shapes on the Silhouette Online Store.

«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 400 of 2158 Newer› Newest»I don't think there is anything I wouldn't do with it!! I think the first thing would be the heat transfer for fabric - kids' clothes!! I really hope I win - no hope of being able to purchase it any time in the forseeable future.
I'd use it to decorate my daughter's room and make everything else in my house a whole lot cuter!!
I make a lot of little shirts for my daughter so I would for sure use the heat transfer, but all the possibilities look awesome. Thanks for a great giveaway!
I work lots in fabric and cutting stencils to apply paint would be marvelous.
But would enjoy some of the paper applications as well and love the wall pieces.
I'd use it for a vinyl decor for sure but it'd be hard to know where to start in my decorating.
Oh my gosh! Great giveaway! I'd use this for my daughters upcoming birthday decorations :)
I added a link to my blog: justmeandz.blogspot.com.
Thanks for the chance!
OH how I want a Silhouette!!! Thank you so much for the opportunity to win! :) I think I would go crazy downloading things from the store, and I'm DYING to try the heat transfer...dying, I tell you!!
i would totally use it to make letters for my pages, and make some crafty additions to our pillows!!
I would used lots of fabric and vinyl!!! This thing is so cool!!!

Wow, I wished I had heard about Silhouette before I had purchased the other product! What I would use this for is to teach my Grandchildren the fun of crafting. They are 2 and 3 years of age and we've been painting and using Playdo. Next will be the magic of Silhouette digital cutting machine. Can't wait!
What a great giveaway! I would use this for some fun back to school projects I need to get working on!

Um - what wouldn't I use it on? I would definately use it for my card making, scrapbooking, and vinyl stuff. I would go crazy with the vinyl lettering and images!! My friend has one and loves hers, so I'm crossing my fingers!!
I would use it on everything!
I have a bunch of crafts that I've wanted to do, but I don't have a vinyl cutter. Hopefully I will soon!
This is the first time I've ever seen one of these. So very cool! I would definitely use it to make some fun shirts. Love it...want it!!!
I'm a fan on facebook! =)
{and in REAL life!}
I could finally go crazy and put vinyl all over my house. And the glass etching looks amazing too.
I would use it on everything! I have been drooling over this machine for the longest time now!!
oh my goodness i am dying for one of these babies! i would use it for everything!! but my number one thing would be to make vinyl stuff!
I love how you put a little something pretty on your Kitchenaid! I would probably do that first. Then heat transfer for clothing definitely. Although the glass etching looks really cool to. How neat to make a vase for a wedding present that says the couples names or anniversary? Great giveaway!!
WoW, what a great giveaway! I have been wanting a machine like this forever, but it's just not in the budget. I would put letters and numbers on EVERYTHING!
This little baby looks amazing! The possibilities are endless for all of the things that it can be used for. I love all of the crafts that you have done with it, especially decorating your Kitchen-aide!
I do have a cricket and can I tell you that I find it to be very limiting because of the cost of all of the cartridges that you have to purchase. I only have the basic one that it came with.
I know a million people are trying their chances for this and I most likely won't win it, but I am seriously considering getting one of my own and selling the cricket.

I would use it for vinyl, to start. Then my some appliques for tees and quilts.

There are so many things to use it on that I don't know where to start. Definitely I'd be using it to help decorate my daughter's apartment with the lettering. She can't paint and has to keep nail holes to a minimum so this would help a bunch! I'd use it on an old bread box I have that needs to be repainted, etc. I guess the question is, "what wouldn't I use it on?" LOL! What a great tool!
Cindy
Wow!! I soooo want this!! I love the glass etching! I want to redecorate my son's room and this would be perfect for wall art! :)
As a teacher, I can tell you I would use it for everything!
Bulletin boards, classroom games, scrapbook, the list goes on and on!!!
a better question --- what wouldn't i use it for?!?!
I'd probably use it for heat transfers the most...but I could scrapbook with it too!
I've been looking for vinyl wall decor, and haven't found what I want - with the Silhouette, I could do it myself!

i would love to have a silhouette to cut fabric and make cute little shirts for my girl! i can think of about a million other crafty things that it would be fabulous for too!
My most favoritest font is GirlsAreWeird (http://www.dafont.com/girls-are-weird.font) and I would love to get that on vinyl or in my scrapbook, or on a tote, or who knows! The Sihouette allows such amazing ideas, but I would start there, at the fonts. Thank you for the opportunity to win! :)
So cool! I so would like to have a Silhouette...what FUN we could have!
I'm posting it on my blog @ thingswevediscovered@blogspot.com
Became a fan on Facebook. :)
You are right, I now desperately want one. Where to begin? All the projects I have been dreaming about could finally be begun. The vinyl, the glass etching... Oh heaven!
became a facebook fan!
Just became a Facebook Fan 2!!!!
I'm a FB fan and if I had the silhouette the first thing I would do would be the glass etching, this is an awesome machine.
I would label anything that was still long enough!
I hope I win! I would def use it for screen printing, vinyl on my walls, glass etching, heat transfer, oh my goodness!
Amikins48@gmail.com
I love it! I think my hubby would like me to spend less and make more...
Like everyone, I would use the machine for just about everything! I had a big long comment typed out, but blogger ate it. Therefore, short and sweet, I have a Cricut and am realizing its limitations in what I want to do - I think that the Silhouette appears to surpass it in relations to my desired crafting excursions (especially with personalizing clothes - think adding cute little birdies to hand-sewn dresses that are hopefully in my future). That and if I win I would promise to use it with all the freetime I can dedicate to it (without neglecting my family (too much!))
I would use it to decorate my walls and to make stuff to give away for my MOPS group...there are some seriously cute ideas.
Oh pick me! My head is spinning with the possibilities... vinyl wall art, heat transfers, cupcake toppers... do I have to pick one?
Please, oh please, pick me!!
I'm a facebook fan!
(pick me!)
Ok, I didn't read the directions very well, or I would have known to tell you what I'd do with the fabulous Silhouette if I won. I have no idea. Everything. First, I want to help my mom finish decorating my niece's room, and the Silhouette would be perfect, since the theme is SHOES! Second, I'm working on a landscape baby quilt, with some really difficult shapes - I know Silhouette says it doesn't officially cut fabric, but it can be done - so I'd have to try. I can go on and on. I'd never had a cutter, or any kind, so I'd be like a kid in a candy shop!!! (And I posted it on my blog, because you guys are awesome!)
What would I use this for?? Everything!!! This would be great to use for making Christmas gifts this year!!
I want this so bad! I think I would use it for everything but especially for scrapbooking.
I would use it for the vinyl to embellish my kitchen Aid. or maybe try the glass etching.
sarahmost@gmail.com
Please Please Please- The software sounds amazing!!! I would use it everywhere!
Where do I start - I think I am most exited about the heat transfer of my own designs. I have an etsy shop (sweetdecember.etsy) and this would make designs go so much further! But then I love the vinyl decals to decorate with - something my kiddos cant pull down :) So much fun!
Oh wow! I'd start with fabric appliques on baby clothes for my little man... then, I'd decorate EVERYTHING! Oh boy! Pick me!
I'd love to use it on fabric and make cool shirts for my little guy or do some vinyl..or...or...or. There so many things to do!
I would use this for everything! The vinyl, the glass etching, make shirts, make cute birthday invitations...oh the possibilities!
Also- my blog is linked to this blog already! chelsiebrady.blogspot.com
(Fingers crossed)
Can I just say that this is the mose awesome giveaway in the history of giveaways ever!
To awnser your question, what wouldn't I use it on?? I have to say though, It would make my scrapbooks look a heck of a lot cooler :)

What a cool machine. I would use it to make vinyl wall art for my girls room
I'm a facebook fan!! Always have been, you guys are the greatest!!!!
I'd want to use it to make those fancy diecut background papers that cost ridiculously too much. Definitely would use it to cut fabric too for my quilts. I love the precision of the cut as well. I've seen side-by-side comparisons of the Cricut & Silhouette and the difference is amazing, so precise! I have a Cricut and I'm so sick of the cartridges! Hubby surprised me with it a few years ago for Valentine's Day, so I'm not complaining! But he'd be a little upset if I went out and bought one of these. ;)
I am a fan on Facebook!!
Wow, what would I *not* use this for?! Cards, scrapbooking, VINYL LETTERING!!! Woohoo!!!

Definitely, definitely some glass etching. I now wish to etch everything in sight. (Run while you can, plain jane glass containers, cause I'm lookin' at you!) Awesome giveaway!!!

I posted on your fan page but couldn't find the fan button to become a fan. Am I missing something?
A better question would be what *wouldn't* I use it on? My first project would be to make a word wall for my kids. Then a 0-99 chart. Then I'd decorate my laptop. Then I'd conquer our bathroom. Then...:-)
I'm a FB Fan!
I would definitely want to try my hand at etching! Always wanted to do that!

I am a Fan on Facebook!!
OMG! I want this sooooooo much! I would use this for so many crafty things...scrpbooking, cardmaking, vinyl decor, paper crafting, heck I might even try out some glass etching if I had this bad boy!
There is no way I can just choose one project! I am most excited about the vinyl, heat transfers and glass etching. I had no idea about the machine until I saw this blog post. Forget the Cricut I have been wanting I want the Silhouette digital cutting tool PLEASE!
This is what I've been waiting for, a cutter that uses computer files instead of the expensive cartridges! I'd start with some wall designs for the cabin, and hot-rod detailing for bikes and such
I love everything! But I especially love the vinyl and heat transfer applications for home decorating and the possibility of custom T shirt designs.
There is so much I would love to do!!! So many options but I would definitely love to make some super cute shirts!!! Love them!
