A while ago, I decided I wanted to change my front living room. It is a room you can see right when you walk in the front door and I wanted it to make an impact and feel modern. Here is what the room looked like when we first started.
I loved the wainscoting, so I knew I wanted to keep it, but other than that, it needed a big change. I received a wall stencil from Cutting Edge Stencils to try out and knew that would give the room exactly what it needed. I decided to paint my wall the same color as the wainscoting and then I used a soft gray paint to fill in the stencil. I then got new chairs and pillows and a new little love seat. Can you believe the difference?
I am still on the hunt for a large mirror to put on the wall but I just love the room! I love the feeling of old and new with the modern feel along with the piano. It is my favorite room in our home and I get so many compliments on it, especially since people can see it from my front door. The stencil makes such an impact.
The stencil was very simple to use and came with a brush that I needed. Here is a great video with instructions on how to use these stencil designs.
I have been so happy with my stencil and I cannot wait to buy a different stencil to use in another room of my house. The great thing about these stencils is they are a lot more affordable than wall paper and you can re-use them in any other rooms you want to design as well. You can even use them on furniture or other items if you want.
Today, Cutting Edge Stencils is offering one of our readers the chance to win a $50 gift certificate! All you need to do is take at look at all the wall stencils and find your favorite one. Then come back and leave us a comment telling us which one you love.
