I have a good friend who is very "green." She amazes me. But I have to admit I was a little skeptical when I heard she was doing cloth diapers for her first baby. I thought, she'll never make it past the first three months--all those blowouts? The only reason my mom did cloth diapers is that was the only choice she had! What I didn't realize was how easy they had made saving the earth with all the new cloth diaper supplies and "systems" out there. This is not what my mother had to work with.
Our newest sponsor, Great Lakes Diaper Company, tells us there are 3 main reasons why people choose cloth diapers over disposables: it is good for baby, good for our environment and it saves money. Pretty convincing? They have more information on their site to help you decide if cloth is right for your family. The owners use cloth themselves, so they're always willing to give you personal advice and direction if you need it!
Great Lakes sells modern cloth diapers and accessories, including brands like Mother-ease, Fuzzi Bunz, Knickernappies, Gro Baby, Dream-eze, the Natural Baby Company, and Wahmmies. Seriously, Fuzzi Buns? Knickernappies? I might have to try this cloth thing just for the funny names! They also do special orders, and their shipping is fast.
Whether you're a veteran cloth diaper fan, or have just decided to give it a try, we have a great giveaway for you! Great Lakes Diaper Company has generously offered our readers a $30 gift certificate toward any purchase from their site. Plus, LBS readers can get 10% off just by using coupon code "NOVSALE" through November 23. And right now it's free shipping on any order of $50 or more!

ReplyDeleteI became a facebook fan! Not sure if you want that posted here as well....
ReplyDeleteWell, how can you choose just one favorite? My little guy is 21 months old and we have always cloth diapered, but I LOVE to try new diapers. I'd like to give the gro baby a try.

ReplyDeleteI've heard the GroBaby diapers are awesome and I'd like to try them for myself!
ReplyDeleteI became a fan of Great Lakes Diaper Company on Facebook.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite product is the Fuzzi Bunz One Size Diaper. Such a cute name and I love that the diaper lasts for so long as the baby gets older. I would definitely use these diapers for my new son.
ReplyDeleteI have done cloth diapering with my two babies but have only used bumgenius. i like the ease of use with velcro but it does wear out and i have wanted to try a diaper with snaps like grobaby or motherease that they have on the site. I hope I get the certificate so I can try a new product worry free! I love cloth diapers :)
ReplyDeleteI am due in 9 days and have been going back and forth on whether cloth is a viable option for us. I'd love to win this to give it a try!

I commend anyone able to use cloth diapers for a newborn. We didn't start until later but I hope I'll be brave enough next time. I would love to try the Gro Baby Shell set. I've never used the brand but I like that they're a one-size diaper and I've been wanting to try snaps instead of velcro. It doesn't hurt that they're adorable either. Did you see the little blue bird pattern?!

I've been meaning to try the Fuzzi Bunz one size (we only use pocket one size diapers and prefolds with covers my fav and my husbands fav) so that's what I'd get with my gift certificate if I one - specifically the daisy print one because - wow - it's cute!
ReplyDeleteOh! Great giveaway! We like pocket diapers. The product I'm most interested in trying is the grobaby diaper system.

OOoh. First one! Well, I can't say I am a fan of cloth diapers, but I'll give it a try if I win. I've never used them! The fitteds (like the Mother-Ease cloth fitted diapers)look appealing because they may be handy for potty training, as well.
ReplyDeleteI really love the wonder wrap diaper cover. It's so cute and spunky!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite product is the Natural Baby Co. pail liner. I have two in the blackberry color (which is beautiful!) and they work perfectly in a 13 gal trash can or by themselves. I'd love to try the Wonder Wrap diaper cover, though!
ReplyDeleteI love cloth dipes! I have only tried BumGenius brand, but I've had my eye on the GroBaby for a while! I would love to put that gift certificate towards those!

ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about going to cloth diapers for my twins...I guess I win this it would be the extra push! I don't know what my favorite would be...but I've heard a lot of good about FuzziBunz, but a lot of the comments say Gro Baby is the best, so I would probably have to try that one :)
ReplyDeleteThe Gro Babys are amazing. I plan on using cloth diapers when I have kids and have started making some of my own, but would love to win!
ReplyDeleteI am in love with the Gro Baby diapers! I think the cloth diapers are amazing and totally CUTE :)
ReplyDeleteI've been really wanting to try the Gro Baby diapers. I know I want to give up disposables, mostly for environmental reasons - and I've been debating between a compostable diaper service here in the Bay Area and just going all-out and doing cloth diapering which I know is better, but I've been teetering over the 'ick' factor. Hoping to win so I can give it a try and find out if I can do it!!!
ReplyDeleteI love all cloth diapers. I love fuzzi bunz and use them but am willing to try others.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what kind are my fav- I'm due in April with my first and want to do cloth diapers. I also became a fan on facebook!

ReplyDeleteMotherease fitted or Gro Baby would be what I would try. I have a grandbaby on the way and my daughter wants to try cloth. I wish they had things like this when mine were babies.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to give cloth diapering a try, and I will if I win . . . perhaps I'll get the kiwi gro baby one? It looks really cute, and gro baby seems to be a favorite among other moms who have commented.
ReplyDeleteI like the wonderwrap covers.
ReplyDeleteFuzzi Bunz! I used FB and Bum Genius for my daughter, but we are in the PT stage now. Next time I want to try the Fuzzi Bunz one size diapers :)

Oh, I LOVE the Fuzzi Bunz one size diapers!!
ReplyDeleteThe only cloth diapers I used were on my baby sisters long ago- I was quite the pro at the flush and twist to rinse them in the potty- and I swore I'd never use cloth myself. These look so different I'd give them a try for sure- plus the Gro baby prints are super cute.
ReplyDelete100% cloth diapering mama here! I love the fuzzi bunz :)
ReplyDeleteI like the one size knickernappies with the microfiber inserts. I like one size cloth diapers b/c you can use them for a long time. It's a good way to build your stash.

ReplyDeleteI love their all in ones! They are so adorable! Thanks for the great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI also began following Great lakes on fb. My name is Jodi Davis.
ReplyDeleteFuzzi Bunz one size diapers. I used Fuzzi Bunz sized diapers with my twins because they were given to me. I don't know much abouut the others but am sure there are some I would LOVE!!
ReplyDeleteI started with cloth diapers when my second child was a newborn. Now I'm cloth diapering our third child who is 20 months. Most of his diapers were used by his big sister so they have been used nearly four years. We need some new ones! I'd like to try Mother ease as they look the most like our tried and true diapers.
ReplyDeleteI like the Gro Baby Shell Set in Blue Birds. So cute!
ReplyDeleteI blogged over on Emily's Latest:
ReplyDeletehttp://emilyisland.blogspot.com/2009/11/what-weekends-are-for.html

ReplyDeleteI'm all about the wipes...they are called Fuzzi Bunz, after all...Who could resist! :)

ReplyDeletehttp://crafthappymommy.blogspot.com/2009/11/cloth-diaper-giveaway.html
Now that I am on #3 I am a prefold fan. I started with AIOs and have gradually moved to prefolds and covers and really like them the best - when my wiggly worm is not crawling off in the middle of a change. ;)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely loving the Wildflowers Gro Baby Shell Set
ReplyDeleteI am now a fan on facebook.
ReplyDeleteI like Fuzzi Bunz Perfect size diapers. I only own one, but it held up wonderfully for the year and a half I used it! Size Medium fit not only my (at the time) 4 month old, but my 1 1/2 year old daughter as well. It's easy to wash and very cute too!
ReplyDeleteI use mainly prefolds and covers but really like the one BG organic onesize that I just got to try out! For covers I am ties between the wonderwrap and blueberry coverall.. Both onesizes which is a MUST since I have 2 in diapers currently and am due in June with the third. :)
ReplyDeleteI cloth diaper my children and was amazed at the options out there! I would love to try the Gro baby system. (I make all of my diapers so I have never tried any commercially made dipes) Thanks sooo much!
ReplyDeleteI became a fan on facebook!
ReplyDeleteThe Fuzzi Bunz diaper look cool. I'm about to have baby #2 and would love to try cloth!
ReplyDeleteSusie
We use cloth here and I love it! I only did it for the money saving aspect, but now that it's been 6+ months, I really appreciate all the other benefits: fewer leaks (and WAY fewer blowouts than when I put her in disposables), less diaper rash, and a darn cute bubble butt. I'd love to win the gift certificate and get some GroBaby snap diapers!
ReplyDeleteThe Wahmies Fun Prints Wet Bags were so cute!
ReplyDeletecelestelouise@gmail.com
I love the Fuzzi Bunz, they are so easy and their new "one size fits all" diaper is amazing!
ReplyDeleteI love bamboo inserts on my little one.
ReplyDeleteI have two grobaby's and have been stalking ebay and craigslist for more! I love them for my 6 mo. old son. PS I have just discovered your site (from sabbespot.blogspot) and loved the crafts- the cloth dipes make it even better!
ReplyDeleteI hear nothing but good things about fuzzibunz, so that is what I would pick
ReplyDeleteFacebook fan 2!
ReplyDeleteAlright! I love cloth diapers!
ReplyDeleteI've only used BumGenius pockets, but I'd love to try the Fuzzibunz os pockets- especially with 2 inserts. Awesome.
Thanks!
i would love to try the grobaby diapers! thanks for the great giveaway!
ReplyDeletei became a fan on facebook :)
ReplyDeleteOh I could always stand to add more to my stash! Count me in!
ReplyDeleteI would love to try out cloth diapers. I have heard gro baby diapers are really good. My number5 and 6 are both in diapers but I've been too chicken to switch to cloth.
ReplyDeleteI agree that newborn blowouts are much more common with disposables than in cloth. At least in my experience!
ReplyDeleteI'm SO interested in trying out the GroBaby system. I just can't make myself spend them money since we technically have enough diapers already. But if I win...!
Just grabbed one of your buttons! Love the cloth diapers, I've never been brave enough to try them on my own kids, but a little girl we watch has them, and they are surprisingly easy! I'm thinking about converting with our next one! Thanks
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to try these but have never been brave enough. So I actually can't pick my favorite item because I have no clue where to start.
ReplyDeletefacebook fan :)
ReplyDeletefuzzi bunz are the best diapers!
ReplyDeletesnaps and pockets are the perfect combo.
Coolest thing I've EVER seen. And I'm not even a mom.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite are fuzzi bunz! I'm about to have my first and plan to give cloth a go.
ReplyDeleteI've been loving cloth diapers with my now 2 year old - we started using cloth when she was 6mo. I'm due any day now, and have newborn diapers all set to go. :) I use prefolds almost exclusively (have a couple pocket diaps for others to use) but have heard how great fitteds are for newborns. So I'd have to pick some Mother-Ease Sandies to try! Then I'd still be able to use all my cute wool covers. :)
ReplyDeleteWe are vetran cloth diaper people are our house! Our favs are the fuzzi bunz. I reccomend them to everyone. I'd love to win this and pick some up for a friend with a new baby! Those days are done for us!

ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
I was having a hard time deciding between the Fuzzi Bunz (since they have soft waterproof layer) and GroBaby (since they are so soft and adjustable and cute) so I want to try one of each when our little one is born. So far I think FuzziBunz has my #1 vote. alissacrandall at gmail dot com.

ReplyDeleteI would love the chance to try one of the GroBaby ones size diapers. I like the idea of the reusable outer shell.
ReplyDeleteI became a fan on Facebook.
ReplyDeleteMy youngest has eczema and it seems like his huggies are contributing to it. So I was looking at cloth diapers for the first time yesterday! and saw your giveaway!!! I think I would try the Grobaby because I like the idea of a hybrid disposable when away and cloth at home. But I need to do more research.
ReplyDeleteoff to become a facebook fan!

ReplyDeleteMy friend has been wanting to try disposables for her newest little one (she is due in January) so I know she would love a gift certificate. I think the Gro brand would be cool to try.
ReplyDeleteI am a fan on facebook!
ReplyDeleteI feel like the cloth diapering world has a secret language and I don't have the decoder ring. AIO, AIT, one-size (does that really mean it could fit my 12mo as well as my 2yo?). I have no idea.
ReplyDeleteI really love their wet bags! Such such designs!
ReplyDeleteI blogged about it!

I was surprised when I started using cloth diapers how easy they are. I love the inserts for at night and also the cloth wipes. I take them with me on the go and bring a tiny spray bottle with solution in it. It works great!

ReplyDeleteI became a fan on FB.
ReplyDeleteWe are so excited to go the CD route. I just ordered the grobabies today from the site! It would be great to win!
ReplyDeleteOh my! I love all the pics on that site. All the dipes looped in circles look like flowers! But I think the product that looks the coolest is the gro baby shell set. It grows with the babe and the insert can be changed out so the whole dipe doesn't have to be washed. How cool!

I think the Fuzzibunz and the Drybees look the most interesting. I have been considering them for some time and would love to actually try them out!
ReplyDeleteI'm getting ready to have my 3rd baby and am really wanting to try cloth diapers. All I remembered were the pins & how often my mom stuck herself in process. I am most interested in the GroBaby diapers, but the Fuzzibunz also looked good!
ReplyDeleteFuzzibuns are my workhorse dipes! I really prefer natural fibers-they don't hold onto things like microfiber does-its easier to get them clean!
ReplyDeleteWould love to try the GroBaby diapers!
ReplyDeleteMy son is still too little for his onesize cloth dipes so I can't say I have a favorite yet. :) I really want to try some fuzzibunz but the grobaby line looks good too. I also became a fan on facebook.
ReplyDeleteOh I am a fan now too!

ReplyDeleteI love the Knickernappies 2G Diapers, along with the LoopyDo Inserts. I only have 2 right now and would LOVE to get some more! :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to try the funnizbunz for my daughter. It would be awesome if they work as well as disposables.
ReplyDeleteI've never tried cloth diapers, and while it may be late in the game (my last child just turned 2) I'm interested! I found their FAQ page very informative! Do I dare try something new?
ReplyDeleteI started using cloth diapers for two reasons- first, for my own economic benefit, and secondly, to become more self-sufficient. It has proven to be wonderfully beneficial! Not only has my 2nd child potty trained extremely fast, but we don't have to run to the store at 9pm to buy diapers!:)
ReplyDeleteWahoo for cloth diaper!
I could use some size small and medium Mother-ease air flow covers.
Great giveaway.
I am thinking of using cloth diapers with my baby who is expected to arrive in the next couple weeks. I would love to try the One-Size diapers. I love the cute colors they come in too!

ReplyDeleteI'd love to try the fuzzy bunz one size. I've been cloth diapering so long all of my pockets still come in sizes S M and L!
ReplyDeleteMy fav is Mother-ease One Size Cloth Diaper Bamboo. They are work horse dipes.

I would love to try the Knickernappies One Size. I'm hoping the feel of cloth might boost my little one's interest in potty training, along with giving us a head start on a cloth diaper collection for a little sibling!
ReplyDeleteI'm a bum Genius mom (well, my baby is anyway...), but I'm intrigued by the GroBaby diapers! With #2 on the way, it's the perfect time to try them out!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to try the Wahmies Pail Liner or one of the Knickernappies One-Size. I, too, had more blowouts with disposables. No rashes with the cloth diapers, either!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite product is the FuzziBunz one size diaper. I love the idea of a diaper that grows with your baby, and I have been wanting to try cloth diapers for a while now.
ReplyDeletei could really use the pail liner and the wet bag! i also would love to try the wonder wrap!
ReplyDeleteI would love to try the Gro Baby stuff, but in if I won, I'd probably by a Rikki wrap and another wet bag. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI became a fan on Facebook. Please enter me a second time. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI'm sad I didn't comment in time for the giveaway, but here's my cloth diaper story: I'm on my third cloth-diapered child. I LOVE it because it's cheap, green and only a bit more work than disposables. I use fitted diapers (that were given to me, I originally purchased prefolds - cheap!) with vinyl pants over them. I've NEVER had a leak out of that type of pants. I know some of the fancier more expensive covers are cuter, but these have worked SO well for us!
ReplyDelete
