dress up chef's hat
A while ago we showed you how to make a fun cowboy mustache and money bag. Well, with Halloween around the corner we thought it would be fun to add to our "dress up" posts with this cute little chef's hat.
We followed the tutorial found here on the Michael Miller Fabrics blog to make two fun hats. You could make it a traditional white hat, or go with fun and funky fabrics like we did. We're going to pair these hats with some cute aprons (Michael Miller has a fun pattern for this, too) for one fun dress-up outfit. Or, let your kids help you make cookies after school--they'll feel like a real chef! The pattern was really easy to follow and the hat can be made in no time at all.
This hat and a child-sized apron would also make a great gift. Add some felt food like this brown bag lunch from Skip To My Lou, or playdough and a few play kitchen utensils for tons of non-messy fun. Bon appetit!
thanks for the great apron pattern!!! I am an apron fanatic, LOL
ReplyDeletethe chef hats are super cute too :)
So I was wondering if you guys could do something on teachers gifts. Maybe a few ideas? For all of us PTA moms. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteI just picked it up at Hancock Fabrics.
ReplyDeletePerfect Christmas idea! I'm a cook who just so happens to be looking for ideas for coworkers. Everyone's favorite color would go over great as christmas gifts for my fellow cooks! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI just followed this pattern and posted about the aprons I sewed...it was so much fun and very easy to follow the instructions!
