Stacy received this beautiful embroidered tea towel as a gift and we all fell in love with it. It's from Anthropolgie, a chic retailer that offers unique clothing items as well as gorgeous accessories and things for the home. We love them because their items always have some small detail that make them special. I wish I could dress and decorate as chic yet nonchalantly as the people in their catalog (insert daydream here). But I don't have $24 to spend on a tea towel. (Who does?)
I can, however, be inspired by their designs and make my own for a lot less. These dish towels are all currently for sale in their catalog. Aren't they sweet?
Stacy took the challenge and came up with her own darling towels. (Sorry the colors are a little off--they're even cuter in person.)
She bought plain tea towels in bright colors and machine-appliqued simple designs on each. She added a little embroidery, some buttons, a bit of ric rac, and a darling pom-pom trim to finish them off. Very chic. And nonchalant. Very Anthropologie. For a lot less.
These would make a great hostess gift, or gift to yourself! They're a simple way to brighten up your kitchen in anticipation of spring.
For all of you who don't think those look pretty darn easy, you're in luck. Stacy has these gorgeous towels for sale in her Etsy shop, mimiroses! Not to mention some other fun items. We're so glad she's finally open for business (she just had to get over a little shipping phobia). Check her out!
I love Stacy's purple one with the flowers!
ReplyDeleteI am falling more and more in love with Anthropology every day. I may need to resist the urge to shop and see if I can find me something. Love the towels! Especially the handmade ones!
ReplyDeleteStacy - I would love to get together for a crafting session. Hit me up whenever you are feeling up to it!!! It has been so long since we've seen each other too, so it would be tons of fun. I am now more south but can travel up to you or something. Anyways, let me know when! (Maybe you can help me with the v-card swap I signed up for, since I have never made a card.) :o)
ReplyDeleteI love the little birdie towel!
ReplyDeleteStacy you are so awesome!
ReplyDeletei LOVE these! way to go Stacy!
ReplyDeleteI love anthropologie towels. I have been able to get some on sale for $7.00 and even that is outrageous but it inspires me to look at their fabric and designs. I don't copy them at all. But I love to see what they come up with and it can sometimes spur me onto something else.
ReplyDeleteThose are adorable! Great job!
ReplyDeleteI love all things Anthropologie but those prices and too steep for me.

These DO look like they are from Anthropologie. Isn't it amazing how much you can save by crafting something yourself -- and on top of it, you're sure to get exactly what you wanted!
ReplyDeletemakes me want to get started right away!
ReplyDeleteToo cute! I might try putting something cute on some new cloth diapers for "chic" burp cloths!
ReplyDeleteI need to ask a ? about the V-day wreath....I have made 2 now-LOVE them, but I am having some difficulty. Some of the pieces of fabric keep on falling out-I am pushing pretty hard on the foam. I am also using the end of a pen, since I don't have a pencil. Any suggestions. I am afraid that when I go to put it away for the year, all of the fabric will come off.....
ReplyDeleteI am completely in love with these AND I have that green ball fringe.. YAHOO! I am so going to have to give this a shot! Thanks for the share!
ReplyDeleteHappy SITS day! I can't believe how incredibly creative you are.
ReplyDeleteOh dear, I fear my addiction to your blog is already setting in! Visiting from SITS and LOVE everything I see! I will most definitely be back...
ReplyDeleteThese are great! The hardest part must be finding the colored tea towels. If you have a suggestion of where to get them, drop me a line.
ReplyDeleteI think these are even cuter, and so much better cause they're personlized by you! Great idea, totally gonna make these.
ReplyDeleteSo adorable!
