football sugar cookies

Super Bowl Sunday is only 16 days away, which means you need to start getting into party planning mode. As always, you came to the right place because we have some cookies that can be served at any football party. We found these adorable (yet manly) cookie cutters at Williams-Sonoma. They are no longer available online, but you can find these in stores for only $4.99. Touchdown! Don't you just love how the they come in a locker container?

Here is a fabulous sugar cookie recipe to wow all your guests with (if the cutters themselves didn't do it).

  4. I used royal icing. I thinned it out a bit and then piped it on with a cake decorator bag and tip. It was just runny enough to smooth out and not be lumpy, but not too runny where it oozed all over the place. Just try royal icing recipes and keep adding water until it is the consistency you want.

  7. hi there! LOVE your blog!! Quick question, you said in your cookie recipe to use cream cheese recipe for icing the cookies. But in some of the comments you mentioned Royal Icing. I'm not a fan of royal icing, I'm always looking for better tasting frostings. But did you use royal icing or the cream cheese icing to make the cute cookies? Thanks!
